The Trouble with Tracy
The Trouble with Tracy is a Canadian television series produced by CTV for the 1970–1971 television season, with intended distribution by the U.S.-based National General Pictures. It is considered by some to be one of the worst situation comedies ever produced.
Plot
Shot in Toronto at the studios of CFTO-TV, the show was set in New York City and featured a newlywed couple. Cheerful, malaprop-prone Tracy Sherwood Young (Diane Nyland) was wife to Doug Young (Steve Weston), a young advertising executive and exasperated husband. Episodes were generally set in the Youngs' apartment, and/or at Doug's office. Doug frequently narrated the episodes, which almost always centered around naive and literal-minded Tracy causing increasing problems for Doug (at home, at work or with friends) due to her often disastrous attempts to be helpful. Though Doug could get frustrated with Tracy's flaky nature, the two always reconciled by the end of each episode.
