And the Oscar Goes To... is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language film written and directed by Salim Ahamed and starring Tovino Thomas.

Plot

Issak Ebrahem (Tovino Thomas) is a young man who wants to become a film director . Issak decides to direct and co-produce a film based on a previous screenplay based on the life of his native Moidukka (Salim Kumar). Issak mortgages the land he received as part of the property for the money needed for the construction. Then to actor Aravind (Sreenivasan) and cinematographer Sivakumar (Lal) Tells this story and agrees that they can make a movie. Although he suffers from a lack of money during filming, he eventually completes his first film, 'Sky of Minnamungungs'. Issak, with the help of Sivakumar, submits the film for the award on the last day to apply for the national award. At that year's National Awards, Aravindan won the Best Actor award and the film won the Best Picture award. Issak's film is officially submitted by India to compete for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year.
