KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson
is a Japanese animated fantasy comedy film based on the light novel Let's Go, Crimson Magic of Explosion!, the fifth volume of KonoSuba series by Natsume Akatsuki. The film was released on August 30, 2019 in Japan. Crunchyroll acquired the rights to release the film in select regions outside of Japan and select theater showings were held in October and November 2019. Crunchyroll released the subtitled version of the film on their website on March 25, 2020. The dubbed version was initially set for release in April 2020, but ended up being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Crunchyroll would later stream the dub on January 1, 2021. In the film, Kazuma Satou and his party travel to the Crimson Demon village, where they battle a powerful general of the demon king's army.
Plot
Kazuma and his party are down on their luck: Megumin's use of explosion magic backfires and they lose all the bounty from their latest quest. The group sits in shame at the adventurer's guild until Yunyun arrives. She tells Kazuma that she needs to have a son with him to save the world and that the Crimson Demon village where she and Megumin are from is under attack by one of the demon king's generals. Later, at Kazuma's mansion, the former part of the story is found to be a falsity written by Megumin and Yunyun's classmate, Arue. Embarrassed, Yunyun heads back to the village.
