The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa, often simply referred to as Timon & Pumbaa, is a 1995-1999 American animated television series created by Walt Disney Television Animation. Based on the 1994 Disney animated film The Lion King, it centers on Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog, as they live their problem-free philosophy "Hakuna matata". Voice actors Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella reprised their film roles as the title characters.

Plot

The show stars Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog, both characters from the Disney animated film The Lion King and its sequels. The series is set after the events of the first film (despite some episodes are set before or during those events) and it involves the characters having misadventures in the jungles of Africa, as well as across the globe in different settings such as Canada, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. While the show focuses primarily on Timon and Pumbaa, it has four episodes centering respectively on Rafiki and the hyena trio Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed, which are under the names Rafiki Fables and The Laughing Hyenas, and two episodes centering on Zazu.
