Trainspotting
Trainspotting is a 1996 British black comedy drama film directed by Danny Boyle, and starring Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, Kevin McKidd, Robert Carlyle and Kelly Macdonald in her film debut. It is written in English and Scots. Based on the 1993 novel by Irvine Welsh, the film was released in the United Kingdom on 23 February 1996.
Plot
Mark Renton, a 26-year-old unemployed heroin addict living with his parents in Leith, regularly takes drugs with his friends: treacherous, womanising James Bond fanatic Simon "Sick Boy" Williamson, and docile and bumbling Daniel "Spud" Murphy. Renton's other friends include aggressive alcoholic psychopath Francis "Franco" Begbie, and honest footballer Thomas "Tommy" Mackenzie, who both abstain from heroin use, warning him about his dangerous drug habit.
