Plot

Naina Catherine Kapur is a pessimistic, uptight Punjabi American MBA student who lives in New York City with her widowed mother Jennifer, a Punjabi Christian, disabled brother Shiv, adopted sister Jiya and paternal grandmother Lajjo, a Punjabi Sikh. Jennifer runs an unsuccessful café with her neighbour, Jaswinder "Jazz" Kapoor.
