Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a 1920 German silent film directed by Richard Eichberg and featuring Béla Lugosi. The film had an alternate title, Slave of a Foreign Will (Sklaven Fremdes Willens). Lugosi played a strange hypnotist with heavy eye makeup (one of his earliest "weird roles") who puts a young girl named Claire Raven in a trance. The film was made in 1919, but only released in early January 1920. This was Lugosi's first German film, and it was here he met actress Violetta Napierska, the two having a romantic relationship while he lived in Germany.
