Final Descent is a 1997 television film, starring Robert Urich and Annette O'Toole. It was written by Roger Young and directed by Mike Robe. The film was originally aired at CBS on October 12, 1997. The sequel Final Run was released in October 10, 1999.
When a commercial jet, a fictional Gallant 270 (a real life Boeing 767-300) collides with a smaller plane, it causes the airliner's elevators to jam into the full climb position. The increase of altitude will causes the plane to disintegrate in mid-air and will crash if it runs out fuel. With time running out, it's up to the plane's pilot, Captain Glen "Lucky" Singer (Urich), his co-pilot Connie Phipps (O'Toole), Captain George Bouchard (de Lancie), the airline company, the air traffic controllers below, and others to prevent a catastrophe.
