Astitwa is a Bengali film directed by Shyamal Bose and produced by Sourav Pal. The film stars Soumitra Chatterjee, Supriyo Dutta, Debolina Dutta, Bhaskar Bannerjee, Jinia & Shyamal Bose.

Plot

The story centers around a socially conscious author (played by famous actor Soumitra Chatterjee) reaching the end of his life and creative career. As his last wish, he decides to know the ‘truth’ of the inmates of the brothel and portray that in his story. While depicting his journey, the story unfolds the struggle for existence of the deprived, exploited by the privileged class and how the author gets involved in that class-struggle and continues to champion the causes of the destitute even after the end of his physical existence.
